And man brands along with internet marketing firms use social media to draw people to their websites.</p><p>Some brands and SEO providers are paying people to mention or “Like,” +1, Tweet and share links to their external websites. A survey of internet marketing businesses showed that at least half, sponsored links by savvy social media users to share.  They are paid indirectly through gift cards, special discounts, coupons and even cash to mention products in their social media stream, but Google has strict terms when it comes to sponsored links and violating those terms could affect a sites rankings.</p><p>Google along with requires sponsored social media signals to use a special rel=“no follow” tag to designate it as paid sponsorship. Bing and Yahoo also include this in their Terms of Service.</p><p>A study by IZEA, found that 81 percent of internet and law firm marketing companies involved in the study have done or will sponsor blog posts. IZEA also puts a value on these posts. According to a story appearing on Media Post Blogs, some of the over three thousand businesses participating in the survey estimated the values as follows: one sponsored blog post $114.71; tweets $63.64; videos $112.46; Facebook status update $55.16; Facebook “Like” $45.63.</p><p>Having a dollar value attributed to these social media signals show its importance to brands and businesses, but sponsorship requires following best practices to assure a sites ranking aren’t downgraded by search engines.</p><div

This service is only available to premium accounts.</p><p>Facebook is projected to overtake Yahoo’s number one position in online display advertising. Demand for Facebook advertising is growing and is important force for SEO optimization.</p><p>A recent study showed that one fan on Facebook translates to 20 more visits to a brands site in a year. There are roughly 50 million likes in Facebook per day, according to their Global Marketing VP.</p><p>Because people often rely on their friends’ opinions regarding their buying decisions this new application will be a wonderful tool for both the consumer and advertisers.
