The leader in social media, Facebook reached 1 trillion page views in June, according to figures released for web traffic. Of those 1 trillion views, 870 million were unique visitors for the same period. That gives them a 46.9 percent reach of web surfers, according to Time magazine.
With such a far reach that further illustrates how important it is to utilize this and other social media websites in internet marketing and law firm marketing.
What is intriguing about the 870 million unique visitors is that it exceeds the actual number of registered users by 120 million. That means that people are accessing the site through search engines. Of the sites visitors, the statistics released by DoubleClick, a Google subsidiary, revealed that they clicked onto the website and average 1,500 times in a month. Clicking on a photo, profile or external link into Facebook all count as a view. That makes their ad space worth a huge chunk of change and makes them the king in internet marketing.
Google’s YouTube came in second with 1 billion page views, but it matches 90 percent of Facebook’s unique visitors. Wikipedia, Yahoo, and MSN all ranked in the top ten.
SEO companies discovered the impact that social media has internet marketing and have long employed it in their efforts to increase page rankings. One trillion views is huge deal and social networking is becoming one of the primary uses of the internet. Now will Google+ plus ever be able to compete?
