The success of any business whether it is retail or a service depends on their ability to attract new consumers and build loyalty with existing customers. These businesses may grapple with which media outlet to focus their marketing dollars.
New results in a report from the Nielson ratings agency, entitled “The Social Media Report” details the how and who of internet usage, which points to the importance of launching an internet marketing campaign.
It may come as no surprise that social media takes up a great deal of a person’s time spent on the internet. A quarter of internet time is spent on visiting social media websites and blogs. Blogs are often employed in internet and law firm marketing.
Usage of social media and visits to blogs are quickly growing. Nielson revealed that 4 out of 5 internet users visit these sites on a daily basis. One of the key findings of this report states that 70 percent of the people who use social media also shop online, which is 12 percent more than the average internet user.
They also found that the top three visited websites are Facebook, Yahoo and Google. Because of the popularity of these three internet outlets, they are also very popular in internet marketing and search engine optimization.
The impact that the internet can have on our personal lives and businesses can no longer be denied and will likely begin to take bigger roles in our lives well into the future.
