University of Utah to launch Internet marketing certification program

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The University of Utah is launching a new Internet Marketing Certificate program in April 2012 to make it easier for students to obtain an education.
The David Eccles School of Business is partnering with Online Marketing Gurus, a team of legal Internet marketing experts, to teach participants all about online marketing. The program will help students learn how to use Internet marketing to acquire new customers, improve website performance and enhance client experience.
The venture will begin on Feb. 2 with a free webinar hosted by Matt Langie, the founder and CEO of Online Marketing Gurus. The webinar will teach students the basic strategies of legal Internet marketing and help set the foundation for the full course.
The program features a team of leading legal Internet marketing experts who have experience in business technology or head their own online marketing companies. Participants will have the chance to review different websites and engage in interactive marketing tactics so they can better understand what Internet marketing can do for their own businesses.

“The Internet Marketing Certificate Program at the David Eccles School of Business is one of very few such programs available in the world,” added Langie. “There are billions of dollars being invested in Internet marketing, but unfortunately, academia — with the exception of the University of Utah and a few other schools — has not kept up with the market growth and demands of business to educate Internet marketers.”
The Internet Marketing Certificate Program will begin on April 27 and take place on Fridays and Saturdays until June 8.
As valuable and interesting as this program will be, it will all be in vain if the SOPA act becomes a law. The SOPA act is an Internet censorship bill designed to regulate activity on the web. It can lead to millions of sites shutting down and the end of Internet marketing in general.
