Online Spending Up in Second Quarter

There should be no doubt that economic times are tough, especially after the events of the last few weeks, but there is a bright side. According to comScore, online spending increased 14 percent for the second quarter of 2011 over last year. This is promising news for ecommerce and internet marketing providers.
The firm comScore researches internet marketing trends and also stated that this is the seventh consecutive quarter with year-over-year growth in internet sales. Second quarter sales dipped from $38 million in the first quarter of 2011 to $37.5 million. But growth has been consistent and shows the impact that internet marketing has on businesses.
The report also showed that 70 percent of online shoppers made at least one purchase during the quarter. Online shoppers increased by 16 percent.
Internet marketing and search engine optimization has been a growing business. Brafton News recently reported that retailers and service providers planned to increase their online advertising budgets in the upcoming year.
Having a visible presence on the web is increasingly important to large and small businesses. And firms that offer better web visibility can increase traffic to a particular website whether they sell goods or offer a service, like a law firm.
In the information age, consumers are becoming more discriminating and look to internet to give them information before making their final purchasing decisions. Internet and law firm marketing companies can increase their client’s web traffic by providing them with better rankings and giving consumers the info they want.
